…sent to Ghost River Images
July 6, 2013
We had an expected price range for the book which depended on the final page count. The preliminary manuscript was sent to Ghost River so we could have some real quotes to work with. We were all shocked to find the quotes from two printers that Mike used a lot to be 3 ½ to 4 times what we anticipated!
The trouble seemed to be that there were color photos scattered throughout and so every page of the book would be printed in color; that had changed the price from 1 ½ ¢ per page to over 10 ¢ per page. So I told Mike that I would search for a printer, wow, what an education that became. I finally settled on one and got an early preliminary quote, (we did not have the final page count established yet). The quote came in much better and there was some fine print which I read.
