After many long hours we finally had the revised manuscript and photos ready to prepare for printing. We had engaged Mike White of Ghost River Images, just over two years earlier, to do this final assembly. He is very experienced with the printer’s needs and would submit ‘trouble-free PDF files ready for CTP printing’ as required on our printer’s quote.
So Mike went to work converting Word documents and JPG photos to the Adobe InDesign format. It didn’t take him too long and we had PDF pages to review and correct. Pat printed all these out and placed them in a binder, now the proofing and correcting began. We could not believe we were still finding errors at this late stage! We could do word searches and corrections on the computer as well as mark up the printed copy. We pressed on and took the binder back to Mike; I think we did this four times.
